| In 1994, Nacional Monte de Piedad (the national pawnshop) changed its legal standing of a state-owned company to go back to being an institution of private assistance, with its own legal capacity and Board of Trustees. In 1994, after evaluating the installations its directors ruled that it was necessary to restructure, remodel and modernize absolutely all its properties so as to be able to optimize its resources and guarantee safe installations for the employees and persons pawning their goods.
As a result of this evaluation, Nacional Monte de Piedad invited Systec to collaborate with the company responsible for coordinating the projects. Accordingly, Systec was entrusted with the following activities: changing the corporate image; preparing some of the executive projects; holding bidding contests; and, supervising the work in the various branches. All the foregoing were covered and controlled by the development of a “Master Plan”.
During the time that Systec collaborated with Nacional Monte de Piedad, 16 branches in Mexico City and 32 branches in the rest of the country were restructured. Within this program all the electric wiring was modernized, as well as water pipes, fire extinguishers, telephone operations, and pneumatic dispatches. Processes and deposits were optimized, and the specific furniture for each area was designed. Most important of all, however, all the work was finished on time and in accordance with the established budget. It goes without saying that the best and most modern safety equipment existing in the market was installed in Nacional Monte de Piedad. |
