HOME RE-ENGINEERING THE MONITOR

Project: Optimization of the editorial flow for the newspapers of the group Freedom Communications, The Monitor, and La Frontera in McAllen, Texas.
 
Objectives: To increase the productivity of reporters, photographers, editors, and designers in the edition of the newspaper’s pages.

Results: An additional day for the sale of publicity prior to the publication of the newspaper.

Magnitud: Two newspapers, 60 persons, an average of 120 pages in the newspaper, edited daily.

Requirements: To increase productivity of the editing of the newspaper, without affecting the content of the news or the creativity in the design of the newspaper’s pages.

Obstacles: Resistance to change, coordination of the productive process with the commercial area of the newspaper.
